Personal Testimonial
I was a little nervous about starting college and I wasn't sure what I wanted to study. My first love was baseball and I knew that I wanted to keep playing after high school. I was also smart enough to know that the odds of becoming a professional athlete were very slim. So higher education at a University was a good way to prepare myself for the work world.
I spent a good deal of time in prayer because I knew that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ had a purpose for my life and I wanted to be sure I was following His lead in selecting a University. It was during this time that I recieved a call from the baseball coach at a small community college with an offer of a baseball scholarship to play for them and go to school. I had a peace from God about the offer as did my parents. So I agreed and began my persuit of a bachelors degree.
I made the choice to pursue a degree in Business Management. I always admired my dad for owning his own business and his entreprenurial spirit. I thought the business degree would give me a well rounded education to become a business owner some day.
It was hard work balancing my time between college studies, baseball, church and a social life. Through this time my aim was to keep Jesus my first priority and as I did that He helped me keep up with my studies, baseball training, priorities and friendships. The end result of my five years of college was that I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Management, enjoyed playing collegiate baseball and made many good friends through church and Baptist Campus Ministry.
After the University experience I found that my degree opened up doors right away. I landed my first job the first month after I finished school at one of the big accounting firms. It was a great experience which led to my next job of teaching computer classes at a local Christian School. During my 13 years of teaching and learning technology I found a new passion in web design. I started my first business as a part time venture and it has now become a full time business. Now that I have my own business I do draw from many of the principals I learned at the University as I worked on my Business degree. The hard work was worth it in being able to now be my own boss and do what I love to do. God was faithful in leading me in my journey and now I build websites for Him.
